B. Thankfulness Is a Command: “give thanks.” The scriptural order is not first feel then obey; it’s first obey then feel. It is a lie of the devil to say that you’ll be a hypocrite by doing something you don’t feel. God knew it would be a tall order. That’s why He gave us the command. The commands of God are designed to help us break through barriers that are unnatural and harmful to us. C. Thankfulness Is God’s Will for Us: “this is the will of God.” Thanking God in everything is not just good advice.
